Dayun town is located in the north of Zhejiang Province. It is located at the Dayun exit of Shanghai Hangzhou Expressway. National Highway 320 and provincial first-class highways crisscross. It is 68km away from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport in the East, 95km away from Hangzhou in the west, 92KM away from Suzhou in the north and 30km away from Zhapu port in the south. The town covers an area of 28.73 square kilometers (in 2017), governs 6 administrative villages and 1 community, and has a permanent population of 23643 (in 2017). History of construction

Jiashan Dayun Temple originated in the Tang Dynasty. It is recorded in the compendium of general history of China that in 690 ad, ten people, including Seng faming, presented four volumes of Dayun Sutra, saying that Wu Zetian was born under Maitreya Buddha and was the son of heaven in the contemporary Tang Dynasty. Wu Zetian promulgated the Dayun Scripture and ordered all prefectures to build Dayun temple. " According to Jiashan County annals, "in the second year of Qiande (964) of the Northern Song Dynasty, Li Derong, a gentleman of Rongxi, donated 15 mu (3 / 7 Li) of land to the island. Master Jingzong built the temple, which was named Jingzhong temple. In the second year of Zhiping (1065), it was renamed Dayun temple. During the Song Dynasty, there were many pilgrims in Dayun temple. In front of the temple, they gradually gathered into a city, and in the back of Jingdao street, they became Dayun town. In 1935, the name of Rongxi was changed to Dayun town Dayun temple, an ancient temple, is surrounded by a river. In the Xianghuo bridge in front of the mountain gate, there are Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall and Dabei hall in turn. In the East, there are Shiwang hall, three palaces and guest hall. In the west, there are Zhutian hall, Guandi temple, God of wealth hall and zhaifang. There are more than 100 monks in the temple. Yao Shou, the Ming Dynasty official and famous painter, lived in seclusion in the southeast wing of Dayun temple in his later years. The Pure Land Sect of Dayun temple has experienced ups and downs. During the Yuan Dynasty, the temple was weakened due to repeated military disturbances; in 1495, Dayun temple was destroyed by lightning, and the incense declined; in 1572, the abbot of Yungu Zen master, Dayun temple, revived in French, and the incense remained the same. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, Mu Ru, the Royal monk, and Zhang Zhen, the Jushi, successively built the Dayun temple, and the Sanskrit sound spread far and wide. During the reign of Xianfeng, it gradually became depressed. During the period of the Republic of China, Lesheng returned to the common customs, and the incense was exhausted. After liberation, the hall was in disrepair and began to collapse. In 1954, the government demolished it for other purposes to prevent the hall from collapsing and hurting people. In 1966, the "Cultural Revolution" broke the "four old", thousands of sutras and hundreds of Buddha statues were burned down, and all the sutras and legacies in Dayun temple were destroyed, leaving only the southwest wing room. In December 2001, the Dayun temple was rebuilt with the approval of the superior Bureau of ethnic and religious affairs, covering an area of 39.46 mu. By May 2007, the Dayun temple had been built into Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Guanyin hall, God of wealth hall, wing room and so on. After reconstruction, the Dayun temple is magnificent, wonderful and solemn, with Sanskrit sound replayed and incense flourishing, showing the style of the ancient temple for thousands of years. In 2007, Dayun temple was selected as "Ping'an Temple" by Jiashan County People's Religious Bureau and Jiaxing people's Religious Bureau. Jingzhong temple was built in the second year of Qiande (964) of the Northern Song Dynasty, and it was renamed Dayun temple in the second year of Zhiping (1065). The temple gradually became a city with strong fragrance, and then it was named Dayun temple. Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to the five districts of Xu, and towns were formed during the reign of Guangxu (1875-1908). At the beginning of the Republic of China, it was called Dayun town and belonged to Dayun district; in 1930, it belonged to the second district and the district office was located in Zhanghui town; in 1934, it was withdrawn and directly under the jurisdiction of the county. In May 1949, the people's Government of Dayun township was established, which belongs to Fengjing district. In May 1950, it was divided into three townships, namely Dayun, Gaomiao and Shuangxi, belonging to Weitang district. In November 1955, Dayun and Gaomiao were merged into Dayun township. In October 1958, Dayun, Datong and Huimin townships merged to form Huimin commune. In April 1961, the scale of the commune was adjusted and divided into three communes. In October 1983, Dayun commune was changed into Dayun township. In September 1988, the township was removed and the town was built.
