Waxie Township, belonging to Ning County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Ning County, bordering Nanyi Township and Jixian township of Heshui County in the East, Xinning town and Jiaocun Township in the south, and Shishe township of Xifeng District in the West and North, with a total administrative area of 70.38 square kilometers.
Before 1949, it belonged to Wangning Township and nanyijing town respectively; in 1983, it was changed to Waxie township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Wa village was 13760. In June 2020, the township will have eight administrative villages.

Before 1949, it belonged to Wangning Township and nanyijing town respectively.
In 1956, Waxie township was established.
