Huangzhawan Town, belonging to Yumen City, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, is located in the northern suburb of Yumen City, adjacent to xiaxihao Township and Huanghua farm in the East, urban area in the south, Liuhe Township in the West and Subei Mongolian Autonomous County in the north. The administrative area is 675.16 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, the population of the registered residence in Huang Zhai Wan was 9659. As of June 2020, huangzhawan town has four administrative villages.

History of construction
In 1929, it belonged to the Second District of Yumen county.
In 1943, it belonged to Jingbian township.
In 1949, Jingbian district was set up, with jurisdiction over 10 townships.
In 1953, Jingbian district was divided into Jingxi and Jingdong districts. Jingxi District governs six townships, namely Chuanbei Town, Nanyang Town, jijitaizi, huangzhawan, xihuanghuaying and donghuanghuaying.
In 1955, Nanyang Town, huangzhawan (including xihuanghuaying) and huanghuaying Township were established.
In 1958, the satellite commune was established, and later it belonged to Jingxi management area of Yumen town commune.
In May 1961, huangzhawan commune was established and Beihu village was added.
In March 1983, it was changed to huangzhawan township.
In January 2016, according to the reply of Gansu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on 8 townships including Quanhu Township, Suzhou District, Jiuquan City (GMF [2015] No. 50), huangzhawan township was changed from township to town.
In May 2016, the township was officially changed from township to town.

In 1958, huangzhawan town governed seven production brigades: liangzigou, Nanyang Town, Zehu, huangzhawan, Xigou, Shuguang and huanghuaying.
