Huahai Town, subordinate to Yumen City, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Yumen City, bordering Jinta town in the East, Chijin town in the south, xiaxihao Township in the west, and MAZONGSHAN South Gobi in the north. The administrative area is 398.96 square kilometers.

By the end of 2018, huhai town had 13336 registered residence population. As of June 2020, Huahai town has one community and five administrative villages.

History of construction

During the Xuantong period of the Qing Dynasty, there were three villages, namely Huahai Xiba, xiaxiba and xiabeiba.

In 1915, Huahai district was established.

In 1919, it was changed into the Fifth District.

In 1943, Huahai township was established.

After liberation in 1949, Huahai district was set up, with jurisdiction over Tuncheng, dongtundamiao, Xiqu and Nanqu.

In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into two townships: Damiao and Diancheng.

In 1956, it was merged into Huahai township.

In September 1958, rocket commune was established, which was renamed Huahai commune in the winter of the same year.

In 1966, it was renamed Bayi commune.

In March 1983, the commune was abolished and Huahai township was restored.

In 2002, the township was removed and the town was built.

In 2002, Huahai town governed eight villages, namely Nanqu, huangshuiqiao, Xianjin, zhongzha, Koizumi, Jinwan, Tiaohu and Xixia.

In 2004, Huahai town was merged into Nanqu village, Tiaohu village was merged into Nanqu village, zhongzha village and Xiancun village were merged into Zhongqu village, Xiaoquan village and Xixia village were merged into Xiquan village.

At the end of 2011, Huahai town has one community and five administrative villages: Hezheng, huangshuiqiao, Nanqu, Xiquan, Jinwan, Zhongqu; four resident groups and 35 villager groups.
