HONGSI Town, subordinate to Jingning County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the west of Jingning County, connecting Xixiang Township in the East, Sihe Township in the south, Yangji Township in Huining County in the West and jieshipu town in the north. The total area of the administrative area is 108.19 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2018, the population of the registered residence in red temple is 17539.
Hongsi town is named after the township government's residence in Hongsi village. After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Leisi town and later to HONGSI township. In June 1950, the Tenth District was set up. In 1983, it was changed to HONGSI township. In 2017, the township will be changed into a town. As of June 2020, Hongsi town has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages.
