Liang Yuanxiang
Liangyuan Township, subordinate to Lingtai County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is known as Liangyuan and Puyuan in ancient times. Because Liangyuan county was established in Sui Dynasty, it evolved into Liangyuan. Liangyuan township is located in the northwest of Lingtai County, bordering Taiping Township of Jingchuan County in the East, Chaona town in the south, Longmen Township in the West and Mulin township of Chongxin County in the north, with an administrative area of 137.14 square kilometers.
In 1274, Liangyuan county was withdrawn, renamed Liangyuan, and merged into Lingtai county. Before 1949, it was Liangyuan township. After 1949, Liangyuan district was set up. In 1958, Liangyuan commune was established. In 1983, it was changed to Liangyuan township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Liang Yuan Township was 17102. As of June 2020, Liangyuan township has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in Dongmen Village.
In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Liangyuan township was 88.73 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2730 yuan. By the end of 2018, Liangyuan Township had 13 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the second year of Zhengyuan (786), Tubo occupied Liangyuan city. In the second year, Li Yuanliang took the post of governor of Longyou, recovered Liangyuan, rebuilt Liangyuan city and defended against Tubo.
In 1274, Liangyuan county was withdrawn, renamed Liangyuan, and merged into Lingtai county.
Before 1949, it was Liangyuan township.
After 1949, Liangyuan district was set up.
In 1958, Liangyuan commune was established.
In 1961, Hengqu commune was established.
In 1964, Hengqu commune was merged into Liangyuan commune.
In 1983, it was changed to Liangyuan township.

Liangyuan township is located in the gully region of the Loess Plateau. Most of the area is dominated by mountain platform. There are three rivers (heihechuan, nangouchuan, siyuchuan) and three plateaus (xinzhuangyuan, Wangjiagou, anfengyuan, zhangjiayuan). The terrain is slightly higher in the West and lower in the East, with an altitude of 890-1120 meters.

Liangyuan Township belongs to the Heihe River system of Jinghe River Basin. Heihe River flows from the east of Chicheng Town, Chongxin County, from west to East, from the entrance of Xizhuang community, Hengqu village, through Hengqu, Majiagou, fujiagou, Guancun, Dongmen, Zhujiawan, DUJIAGOU to Jingjiazhuang village, and flows into Taiping Township, Jingchuan county. The river is 32.5Km long, the average width of riverbed is 5m, the drainage area is 62500km2, and the average velocity is 0.8m/s.
