Shangliang town
Shangliang Town, subordinate to Lingtai County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Lingtai County, in the middle of shiziyuan, in the east of Shizi Town, across Jianhe river and Xinghuo Township in the south, Chaona town in the west, Heihe River in the north and Jingchuan County in the north. The total area of the administrative area is 81.08 square kilometers, and as of 2018, the registered residence population in the upper Liang town was 15032.
Shangliang town is named after the township government's residence in Shangliang natural village. At its heyday, Shangliang town was set up in today's Jiuji village. In the Qing Dynasty, it was shangliangli. Before 1949, it was Shangliang town. After 1949, Shangliang district was established. On February 28, 2015, the Standing Committee of the 16th National People's Congress of Lingtai county held its 22nd meeting and passed the motion of Shangliang Township changing from township to town.
