famous scenery
As an important part of Jingchuan Baili Grottoes corridor, Luohan cave was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty and went through Sui, Tang, song and Qing Dynasties. The number of Buddha statues in Luohan cave is small. Most of the caves are empty, which are for monks to live and practice. Compared with Jingchuan Wangmu palace grottoes and South grottoes, this is the unique difference of Luohan cave grottoes. The murals in the caves are obviously influenced by different styles from the western regions and the Central Plains in terms of painting skills. The production of wall carvings has an obvious Song Dynasty sculpture style. The use of color and the style of line depiction of the statue of the heavenly king are influenced by the social atmosphere of the song Dynasty. The Buddha sculptures and mural wall carvings in the caves have high artistic appreciation value and record the historical process of the development and changes of Buddhist art.
