Dongle town is located in the northwest of Shandan County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province. It is adjacent to Qingquan town in the East, Liuba Township and Beitan Township in Minle County in the south, Jiantan town in Ganzhou District in the west, Longshoushan mountain in the north and Alxa Right Banner in Inner Mongolia. It covers an area of 537.4 square kilometers. In 2018, dongle town had 15067 registered residence population.
In 1913, dongle county was established. In 1962, donglexiang commune was established. In 1983, dongle commune was transformed into a township. In 2014, the township was replaced by township. As of October 2019, dongle town has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in Chengxi village.
In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in dongle Town, including 4 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 17 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
