The township has a total population of 17577 (in 2017), including 16 administrative villages, 223 natural villages and 219 villager groups, including Qitan village, yezhangping village, huangshahe village, Dalong village, Huayuan village, sandaohe village, gaohuang village, Houping village, Mawei village, Jinhe village, Zhangwa village, Qingshan village, Houhui village, bengyu village, Liuyu village and Siping Village.

Geography and geomorphology

Qiliping township is a deep mountain township in the north of Neixiang County. Its altitude has risen from 227 meters to 1795.1 meters. It is an alluvial plain with heavy mountains, crisscross rivers and fertile soil. The whole terrain outline, like a crocodile tail, head up against the current. The rivers in this township belong to the Tangbai river system, and Tuan River is the main stream. After entering Dalong village of Qiliping Township from Xiaguan Tuan Yuan, it twists and turns and flows through eight administrative villages, from Dalong to Siping, with a length of 130 Li. The rivers in this township include Qitan River, yezhang River, Huangsha River, Yuhuayuan River, Sandao River, gaohuang River, Mawei River, Jin River, Qingshan River, bengyu River and Liuyu river, It is 185 Li long. The rocks in the area can be divided into three sections: five villages above sandaohe are granite, eight villages below gaohuang are marble and limestone, and three villages in Jinhe, Mawei and Zhangwa are red sandstone. The soil composition is yellow clay, clay, sandy loam, paddy soil and red clay. In terms of cultivated soil, it can be divided into six types: yellow clay, red clay, paddy soil, Shajiang yellow clay, fine sandy loam and coarse sandy loam.

Tianxin cave

Tianxin cave is located in the south edge of Baotianman ecological demonstration area in Neixiang County, and the hillside of sandaohe village in Qiliping township. The entrance is a rare open to the sky, covered by a two-story antique glass painting Pavilion. The access to the tunnel is a nine story vertical rotating steel ladder.
Tianxin cave has a proven development area of 50000 square meters. At present, the first phase of the project has developed and opened 18000 square meters. The three scenic spots have their own characteristics. The first scenic spot is "the holy light shines everywhere"; the cave wall has colorful patterns. "Ink villa", "Mermaid", "dragon and phoenix" and other murals are natural, and "Xiaotian dog", "snake spitting beads" and other bell shaped breasts are vivid and amazing. The second scenic area is "flying snow in Tianfu"; the area focuses on the magnificent and majestic wonders in the cave, including "lion in Tianmen", "ice peak snow area" and other large-scale landscapes, up to 40 meters to the cave top. The third part of the scenic area is "heaven and sea are in one mind"; in the area, the God like shape of Bell and breast and the design of cave wall are combined with the wonderful legends of heaven and earth, and the stories such as "the seven fairies return to heaven", "the Emperor and the imperial concubine", "the name given by the Jade Emperor" are vividly displayed in front of tourists like dramas. Experts and scholars unanimously praised as "a unique Chinese cave" and "a natural art palace".

Seven Star pool

Qixingtan is located 22 kilometers northeast of Qiliping Township, Neixiang County, at the source of longyinxia river. The scenic spot has green mountains, springs and waterfalls, forming a series of Seven Star deep pools, so it is called Seven Star pool. The scenic area is divided into two parts: original eco-tourism area and tourism cultural entertainment area.
In the original ecotourism area, it is completely original vegetation. Green eyes, gurgling streams, fragrant flowers. Through the path, calendar stone road, climbing steps, into the cave, a waterfall and a pool show. The territory has high mountains and rolling mountains, with the highest altitude of 1795.1 meters and the average altitude of 756 meters; two thirds of the territory is located in Baotianman National Forest Park, with a forest coverage rate of more than 89%, which is the largest animal and plant gene bank in temperate regions of China. All villages in the township are connected with automobiles, telephones and electric power. National Highway 312, Henan 249 and guan'er war preparation highway run through the township. It is the main source of tuhe River, the largest river in Neixiang. The territory is rich in natural products, such as mushroom, agaric, Gastrodia elata, eucommia, Cornus officinalis, chestnut, Hericium erinaceus, kiwi fruit, wild vegetables, sillimanite powder and sepiolite insulation products. It contains 380000 cubic meters of living wood resources and more than 30 kinds of mineral resources, such as sillimanite, sepiolite, quartz, graphite, granite, gold, lead and zinc. The unique landform, good vegetation, warm and humid climate, rich resources and strange landscape constitute a modern "paradise". Together with Baotianman, it is the only "virgin land" to be developed in Henan Province.
