Heiquan Town, subordinate to Gaotai County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is located in the north central part of Gaotai County, bordering Heli Township in the East, Xuanhua town and Luotuo town in the south, Minghai Township in Sunan Yugur Autonomous County in the west, and Luocheng Township in the north. It covers an area of 876.57 square kilometers. In 2018, the population of Hequan town registered residence was 14103.
In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939), Changming township was set up, with 12 guarantees. In 1964, Heiquan commune was established. In 1983, it was changed to Heiquan township. In 2016, the township was replaced by township. As of June 2020, Heiquan town has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Heiquan town is stationed in Heiquan village.
In 2018, Heiquan town has 4 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the pre Qin period, it belonged to Zhangye county.
Ming Jingtai seven years (1456), Ganzhou Wei Gaotai station.
In 1725, it was named Gaotai County, and Heiquan township was subordinate to Gaotai County.
In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939), Changming township was set up, with 12 guarantees.
After 1949, it belonged to three, four, five, six, seven, eight and nine townships of Changming district and two and nine townships of Siwei district.
In 1955, four townships, Heiquan, Yongfeng, Ding'an and Yongyuan, were set up.
In 1964, Heiquan commune was established.
In 1983, it was changed to Heiquan township.
In 2016, the township was replaced by township.
