Maozang Township
Maozang Township, belonging to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, adjacent to Dahonggou Township in the East, Haxi town in the south, Xianmi Township and Zhugu Township in Menyuan County, Qinghai Province in the west, Danma Township in the northwest and Qilian Township in the north. The administrative area is 586.4 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Mao township was 1308.
Maozang township is named after maozang temple, which is a Tibetan Buddhist temple. In Tibetan, it means "not a family". Ming Zhengtong three years (1438), for the Gulang Shouyu Qianhu jurisdiction. In October 1985, after the district was withdrawn, it was still maozang township. As of June 2020, maozang township has jurisdiction over four administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in maozang temple.

Maozang township is high in the West and low in the southeast. The terrain is large mountain and deep ditch, which belongs to high mountain and hilly area. The main mountains are Niutoushan, kawazhang, foyegouding, heiebozhang, etc. Daxueshan, the highest peak, is located in kawazhang, where Tianzhu meets Menyuan County, Qinghai Province, with an altitude of 4874 meters, which is the highest peak in Tianzhu County; huangdabangoukou, the lowest point, is located in maozangxiakou, the easternmost end of the township, with an altitude of 2579 meters.

Maozang is a temperate continental plateau climate. The temperature is cold and dry, the light is insufficient, and the growth period is short. The annual average temperature is minus 2 ℃, and the frost free period is 60 days. The rainfall mainly concentrated from July to September, accounting for 60% of the annual precipitation. Kawazhang, Niutoushan, chelong, heiebozhang and other high-altitude areas are covered with ice and snow all year round.

Maozang Township belongs to Shiyang River system. The territory is rich in water resources. The maozang river runs through the whole territory and flows into Liangzhou District from west to East, with a total length of about 42 km.
