Silong town
Silong Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Baiyin District, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Baiyin District, bordering Beiwan town of Jingyuan County in the East, pingbao township of Jingyuan County across the Yellow River in the south, shuichuan town in the West and Wangxian town in the north, with a total administrative area of 99 square kilometers.
In 1927, it belonged to Xiqu and Xifeng township of Jingyuan County; in 1983, it was called Silong township; in August 1985, it belonged to Baiyin District of Baiyin City; in December 2000, Silong township was removed from township to town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of four towns was 11488. In June 2020, eight administrative villages will be under the jurisdiction of Silong town.
The main food crops in Silong town are wheat, corn and rice, and the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep, cattle and poultry. In 2018, there were 8 industrial enterprises and 9 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Silong town.
History of construction
In 1927, it belonged to the West District of Jingyuan County and Xifeng township.
In 1941, it belonged to pingbao township of Jingyuan County.
In October 1949, it belongs to Beiwan district (six districts) of Jingyuan County, with Township under it.
In January 1956, Shahe township was abolished and incorporated into Jinshan Township.
In April 1958, it was directly under Baiyin City; in December of the same year, pingbao Tai'an of Jingyuan County was assigned to Jinshan Township.
In February 1959, it was changed into Jinshan commune.
In November 1961, it belongs to the suburb of Baiyin City.
October 1963, belongs to Baiyin District of Lanzhou city.
In July 1964, ten production brigades, such as pingbao and Tai'an of Jinshan commune, were assigned to Jingyuan County, and seven brigades, such as Silong and Liangzhuang of former Jinshan commune, established Silong commune.
In 1966, it was renamed Xiangyang commune.
In 1972, the original name was restored.
In 1983, it was called Silong township.
In August 1985, it was subordinate to Baiyin District of Baiyin City.
In December 2000, Silong township was removed from the township and built into a town.
