Ningyuanpu town
Ningyuanpu Town, subordinate to Jinchang City, Gansu Province, is located in the north of the east of Hexi Corridor, adjacent to Shuangwan town and Shuiyuan town of Yongchang County in the East, Hexibao town of Yongchang County in the south, Shandan County of Zhangye City and Zhongmu group junmachang in the west, and Alxa Right Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north, with an administrative area of 960 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, Ningyuan town had 28440 registered residence population. As of October 2019, Ningyuan town had 14 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the township government.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of ningyuanpu town was 33.46 million yuan, and the balance of various deposits at the end of the year was 530 million yuan, an increase of 30.0% over the previous year; the balance of various loans was 280 million yuan, an increase of 66.0% over the previous year; in 2018, there were 56 industrial enterprises, 1 enterprise above Designated Size, and 54 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in ningyuanpu town.
History of construction
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the north capital fortress of Yongchang County with Ningyuan camp.
In 1918, lvying was abolished and Ningyuan township of Yongchang County was set up, which is the fifth protection of Yongchang County.
After 1949, it was Ningyuan district (the Fourth District) of Yongchang County.
In August 1952, the administrative division of Yongchang County was changed to the Fifth District.
In January 1956, two townships, ningyuanbao and Xipo, were set up after the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.
In September 1958, Yuejin commune was established with township as the unit; in November of the same year, Yuejin commune was merged into Weixing commune; in December of the same year, it was renamed Jinchuan commune. In June 1961, Jinchuan commune was abolished and ningyuanbao commune and Xipo commune were established.
In 1965, ningyuanbao commune and Xipo commune were merged into ningyuanbao commune.
After 1966, it was renamed Red Star commune.
In October 1976, it was renamed ningyuanbao commune again.
In 1981, Jinchang city was established, and ningyuanbao commune was directly under its jurisdiction.
In April 1983, the government and society were separated and the township system was restored.
In May 1985, Jinchuan District of Jinchang city was established, and ningyuanbao Township belonged to it; in October of the same year, the commune was abolished and ningyuanbao township was established.
In December 1999, the township was removed to build a town.

Ningyuanpu town belongs to the inland river Shiyang River system. The surface water and groundwater depend on the atmospheric precipitation, ice and snow melting and bedrock fissure water in the Qilian Mountains. The Jinchuan river has a drainage area of 378.7 square kilometers.
