Zhongbao town belongs to Zhenping county, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southeast of Zhenping county, bordering Zhuxi County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province in the East, Wuxi County, Chongqing City in the south, xiaoshuhe town in the West and Chengguan town in the north. Historical evolution

It is named after zhongbaozhai mountain in the middle of Ganzhou river.

In 1996, it was changed to Zhongbao town.

In December 2001, waziping township was merged into Zhongbao town.
