Hongshiqiao Township belongs to Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the southwest of Yuyang District, it borders BOLUO town of Hengshan County in the East, Hengshan Town of Hengshan County in the south, Wudinghe town of Wushen Banner in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the west, Balasu town and bulanghe Township in the north. The largest distance from east to west is 38.5 kilometers, and the largest distance from north to south is 27.5 kilometers, covering a total area of 557 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, hongshiqiao township has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, 15106 households registered residence in Hongshi Qiao township. Historical evolution
The village was built in the reign of Daoguang (1821-1850) of the Qing Dynasty. It was named after the red stone bridge built on the river beside the village.
In 1949, it was subordinate to Hengshan County.
In April 1950, it was assigned to Yulin County.
In March 1956, hongshiqiao township was set up, and villages such as guchengjie were transferred to Shuimiao township.
In September 1958, it was changed into hongshiqiao commune.
In May 1961, it was divided into two communes: hongshiqiao commune and Jingjie commune.
In September 1965, Jingjie commune was merged into hongshiqiao commune, which has jurisdiction over 16 production teams.
In July 1984, it was changed to hongshiqiao township.
