History and culture
There are three folk sayings about the origin of the name of Tonggou temple
It is said that "Tonggou Temple" was originally called "Tonggou Temple", because there are many tung trees on the West Bank of the river valley in the suburb of Heiqiao, and there is another temple in the Tongzhi period, which is called "Tonggou Temple". Later, "Tonggou Temple" was gradually written as "Tonggou Temple". According to the research, the temple site is opposite to Zhongxue in Tonggou temple, which has disappeared now.
The second is that there were two bronze dogs in front of the temple, which can carry bricks on their backs, so it was named "Tonggou Temple". Later, "Tonggou Temple" was gradually written as "Tonggou Temple".
The third theory is that the mountain stream of Mianxian County flows from Xiagou to the east of the basin, and there is almost no tributary flowing into it. It is called Tonggou, and "Tonggou Temple" is the homonym of "Tonggou Temple".
