Danba town belongs to Zhidan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Zhidan County, along the Luohe River, adjacent to Baoan town and Shuanghe Township in the East, Yongning Town in the south, Jinding town in the West and shunning town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 28.8 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 19.8 kilometers, with a total area of 319.4 square kilometers. The land area is 311 square kilometers, accounting for 97.4%; the water area is 8.4 square kilometers, accounting for 2.6%.

Danba town is a Provincial Education Town, civilized town, ecological town, and a municipal key town.

As of June 2020, Danba town has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages. As of 2018, the eight towns had 11451 registered residence population. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Danba town was 21 million yuan, the total industrial output value was 99 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 71 million yuan.

Historical evolution

In 1820, 23 kilns were dug in the stone hill on the West Bank of Beiluo River. The project consumed a lot of food. It is said that there was a stone Badou in salt alone, which was homonymous with "Danba village", so it was named.

Before Qing Dynasty, it was called Lijia town.

Chengtai Grottoes

Chengtai grottoes are located at the foot of the East Bank of Luohe River, Chengtai village, Danba Town, Zhidan County, Shaanxi Province.
