The town is located in the north of Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. It borders jiaoxie town and Xiaoyi town in the East, Longbei town in the south, Xinshi town in the southwest, Guandao town in the west, Xiaying town in the northwest and Lindian town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 11.5 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 12.3 km, with a total area of 86.74 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
It is said that in the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty (85 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, after emperor Zhao of the Han Dynasty granted this place to jinriyu, it became the central market nearby, which got its name because of its long history.
In the late Warring States period, xiabang county and Yanshou county were both here.
In the Ming Dynasty, it was called gushili, which was under the jurisdiction of Xiawei township.
