Yanxia town

Yanxia Town, belonging to Liquan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the north east of Liquan county. It borders Wangqiao town of Jingyang County on the West Bank of Jinghe River in the East, Fenghuo town and xizhangbao town on the North Bank of Ganhe River in the south, Zhaoling community of Zhaozhen town and Zhaoling town in the West and Chigan town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 12 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 13.5 kilometers, with a total area of 88.97 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Zheng Zizhen, a hermit of the Han Dynasty, lived in seclusion at the southern foot of Jiujun mountain. He dug a hole for his room and lived in seclusion for farming and reading. In the morning, when the morning glow filled the sky and the light came into the room, Zheng Zizhen called his cave "Yanxia cave". The town got its name from the cave.

During the reign of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, the territory was under the jurisdiction of Liuzhong township.

In 1956, it belonged to Zhaozhen commune.
