Shahe ancient bridge site
Shaheqiao site is located in the dry river course of Shahe River, southwest of Zicun village, diaotai street, Qindu District, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. The No.1 Bridge now exposes 16 rows and 112 wooden piles, with a spacing of 3-6 meters. The exposed wooden piles are about 2 meters high and 40 cm in diameter. The upper end of the bridge pile is incomplete, there are traces of fire, and the bridge deck no longer exists. No.2 bridge is 300 meters to the east of No.1 Bridge. Five rows of 41 wooden piles have been found, with a row spacing of about 8 meters. The exposed wooden piles are 2-3 meters high. A 9.54-meter square bridge beam is also found with its mortise. Both bridges are 16 meters wide. According to the literature and the width of the river at that time, the bridge is about 500 meters long. In the vicinity of the bridge site, there are also 100 pieces of bronze, iron, bricks and tiles from the Qin and Han Dynasties. It is one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in 1989.
On May 3, 2013, Shahe ancient bridge site was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
