Pingtou town
Pingtou Town, belonging to Chencang District, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the west of Chencang District, adjacent to Gaojia town of Weibin District and Xiashi township of Jintai District in the East, huangniupu town of Fengxian County in the south, Tuoshi town in the West and Xiangquan town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 12.8 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 27.1 km, with a total area of 303 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Pingtou town has 14 administrative villages. As of 2018, the number of registered residence in Ping tou town was 17152. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Pingtou town was 83.029 million yuan, the total industrial output value was 83.08 million yuan, the total sales of social goods was 8.57 million yuan, and the balance of various deposits was 210 million yuan.
Historical evolution
During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, Sangshuping, Lijiaping, gouxiping and machiping were merged and named after "Ping".
Before the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was under the jurisdiction of Xiangquan Town, Longxian county.
In September 1950, it was put under the jurisdiction of Baoji County and set up Pingtou township.
In November 1958, it was changed into Pingtou commune, which has jurisdiction over 13 production brigades.
In April 1959, it was changed into Pingtou management area.
In 1961, Pingtou commune was restored, with 20 production teams under its jurisdiction.
In August 1966, it was renamed Yonghong commune.
In March 1970, it was renamed Pingtou commune.
In April 1984, Pingtou town was established, with 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In December 2001, Xinmin Township was abolished and merged into Pingtou Town, governing 23 administrative villages.
In October 2005, the village was abolished and merged into the village. Zhuyuan village was abolished and merged into dock Village, with jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages.
In July 2011, the township was removed and the town was merged. The original four villages of Hudian Town, Wenshui, Linguang, Nanshan and Beixing, were assigned to Pingtou Town, with 25 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
