In 1997, with an area of 56.1 square kilometers and a population of 33000, it has jurisdiction over 7 neighborhood committees of Guangyi, Xinhua, Xinyi, May 1st, July 1st, Beimen and Xi'an Street, and 14 administrative villages of Yizheng, Yihe, Yishang, Bahe, Xiangyun, Wutai and Wenzhi.
At the end of 2002, it was transferred to the old town.
In October 2003, Dayan Town, the ancient city district, was abolished and four streets, Shuhe, Xi'an, Dayan and Xianghe, were set up.

Jurisdiction Cuiwen section, Shuangshi section, Huangshan section, Huangshan section. In Naxi language, it is called "wabeng", which means the slope of lion mountain. Before liberation, it belonged to yizhengjia; after liberation, it was renamed Huangshan street, Cuiwen street and Shuangshi street; in 1952, it was merged into Huangshan street; in 1955, it was merged into Xinyi street. Xinhua street was set up in 1961, which means prosperity. Cuiwen section: the residence of the neighborhood committee starts from Shuangshi lane and ends at the lower section of Huangshan Mountain, with 129 households and 431 people. In Naxi language, it is called "Buzhu Laoguo", which means more peach trees, so it is named "Taoyuan lane". Later, some scholars changed their name to Cuiwen lane. Shuangshi section: it starts at the entrance of the ancient city and ends at Cuiwen section, with 99 households and 321 people. It is named after a Shuangshi bridge near the lane. The upper part of Huangshan Mountain: it starts from the lower part of Huangshan Mountain and goes West to the junction with Jinjia village of Xi'an Street. There are 146 households and 517 people. It is named after the mountain. It is called "wagu" in Naxi language, which means the top of the mountain. The lower part of Huangshan Mountain: from Cuiwen section to Guangyi community, there are 102 households and 335 people.
Located in the northeast of Dayan street, the neighborhood committee is located in Mishi lane. The topography is in the shape of "well". It has jurisdiction over Jishan lane, Mishi lane, Sifang street and baishuifang. There are 475 households and 1512 people. Among them, 1357 were from Naxi and 119 from Han. It was named Xinyi street in 1953, changed to Xianfeng street in 1966 and restored to Xinyi street in 1981. Mishi Lane: the residence of the neighborhood committee starts from Xinyi street, ends at Dashiqiao in the south, and ends at Xinhua Street in the West. There are 103 households and 361 people. It is named after the lane once lived in the secret sect. In Naxi language, it is called "ayi can", which means the residence of Kublai Khan's troops. Sifang Street: it is the center of Dayan street, with 70 households and 224 people. In Naxi language, it means the center of the ancient city. It used to be called Renhe street and Hongqi Street, but later it was restored to Sifang street by its geographical shape. Centenary Square: it starts from Dashiqiao and ends at Chongren Lane in the south. There are 125 households and 398 people. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, there was a centenarian in this lane, so it got its name. It used to be called life village and Xinmin lane. Later, there were many old people in this lane, and it was restored to baishuifang. In Naxi language, "jilupu" means across the river. Jishan Lane: located in the north of Dayan street, it starts from the back door of Yulong Garden Hotel and ends at the waterworks in the north. There are 177 households and 529 people in this lane. Because the earliest papermakers lived in this lane, they used to call it "papermaking village", and the paper was mostly used for offering sacrifices to heaven and doing good deeds. Later, it was renamed Jishan lane. Up to now, "Shengsu canben" in Naxi language means papermaking village.
Located in the northeast of Dayan street, the neighborhood committee is located in Wenzhi lane. Jurisdiction Wenzhi, civilization, revitalization, Wenhua, Xingren upper section, Xingren middle section, Xingren lower section seven lane section. There are 1032 households and 3486 people. It gets its name because there is a "Wenxiu bridge" in the lane. It once lived in the government surnamed Wang, also known as "Wangjiazhuang". Zhenxing Lane: from the middle section of Wuyi street in the north to Chongren Lane in the south, there are 85 households and 267 people. In the Qing Dynasty, it was called "liangyingpan" as the land of the people's army. In 1914, it was renamed Zhenxing lane to cheer up the people. Upper section of Xingren: from Wenzhi Lane in the south to Gucheng police station in the north, there are 159 households and 510 people. It is named after Xingren primary school in the lane. In Naxi language, "gaokenbengu" means Shangcun next to the warehouse. It is said that there was a case of killing father in this lane, which was originally called "Yonghong lane", later renamed as Xinyuan lane, and "dangshiluo" in Naxi language, which means a new place to live. Guanyuan Lane: from the north end of Mufu to the corner of Mufu gate, there are 73 households and 241 people. During the Ming Dynasty, Mu's Chieftain had an official residence in the lane, which was named Guanyuan lane. Guangbi Lane: it starts from the teacher training school and ends at Baima Longtan in the north, with 162 households and 583 people. In the Ming Dynasty, Mu's Chieftain built "Guangbi building" in the lane, which got its name. Jinxing Lane: it starts from Xinhua community to the backyard of the mansion in the north, and runs from north to south. There are 76 households and 254 people. It is named "Jinxin Street" because it specializes in making and selling all kinds of bronzes. Later it was renamed Jinxing lane. Jinjia Lane: located in the northwest of Dayan street, at the foot of Shizishan, there are 35 households and 133 people. It is named because it is adjacent to Jinjia village of Xi'an Street. Mufu Lane: it is located in Mufu courtyard (now moved to Shuidian Village), with 61 households and 217 people.
Located 2 kilometers north of Dayan sub district office, the neighborhood committee is located in Jinhong lane, with an altitude of 2440 meters. It has jurisdiction over Dongyue lane, Wenmiao lane, Xuantian lane, Jinhong lane, Ziyun lane and Yuhe mall. There are 876 households and 2986 people, including 1822 in Naxi, 455 in Han and 119 in Bai. New construction began in 1972, formerly known as beimenpo East Village and West Village. In July 1984, it was officially named "Beimen Street", because it is located in Beimen slope, so it is named. Naxi language is called "wagu Beng", which means on the slope. Jinhong Lane: it is the residence of the neighborhood committee. It starts from the telephone factory in the East and ends in Xuantian Lane in the south. It has 114 households and 426 people. It is named after Jinhong mountain. Dongyue Lane: located 400 meters south of Dayan sub district office, the terrain gradually rises from south to north, with 90 households and 355 people.
