Bayu town belongs to Weibin District of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. Bayu town is located in the east of Weibin District, bordering Panxi town of Chencang District in the East, zuitou town of Taibai County in the south, Maying town in the west, Chencang town and Qianhe town across Weihe River in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 10.5 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 21.1 km, with a total area of 163.01 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Bayu town has 11 villages (residences), including 1 community and 10 administrative villages. In 2018, eight fish town registered residence population of 28114 people. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Bayu town was 103 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 860 million yuan, and the balance of various deposits was 244.14 million yuan.

In 2003, Bayu town of Baoji County was put under the jurisdiction of Weibin District of Baoji City.
