Jingwei street, belonging to Gaoling District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southwest of Gaoling district. It is adjacent to the confluence of Jingwei River in the East, Chonghuang Township in the west, getan street in Weiyang District across the river in the south, Zhengyang town in Weicheng District of Xianyang City in the southwest, Chongwen town in Jingyang County of Xianyang City in the west, Yongle Town in Jingyang County of Xianyang City in the northwest and Wanzi town in the north, with a total area of 65.9 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
It gets its name because it is located in the delta at the intersection of Jinghe River and Weihe River.
The spring and Autumn period belongs to the Qin Dynasty.
In the Han Dynasty, it was the "deer garden" of the mausoleum of emperor Huidi Liu ying'an.
In the second year of Wude (619) of Tang Dynasty, Luyuan county was set up to the south of Jinghe River in Gaoling County, which governs today's Jingwei town; in the first year of Zhenguan (627), Luyuan county was abolished and re assigned to Gaoling county.
After 1949, it was called majiawan township.
In August 1958, lighthouse commune was established,
On January 1, 1959, it was changed into majiawan management area.
On May 20, 1961, it was transferred to Gaozhuang commune of Sanyuan County; on September 1, 1961, it was changed to majiawan commune of Gaoling county.
After 1966, it was renamed Xudong commune.
In 1972, it was restored to majiawan commune.
In 1984, it was renamed majiawan township.
In 2001, the township was set up and merged with Ji's hometown into Jingwei town.
In 2012, Jingwei town was abolished and Jingwei street was established.

In 2012, Jingwei street had jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages, including mijiaya, Liangcun, dianziwang, Xiying, Dongying, Leijia, chenjiatan, jingweibao, Jijia, Xiaojia, Luojia, Chaoli, Pisha, Dongchengfang, dengjiayuan, Jiangli, yangguanzhai, Gaoliu and Leijia.
In March 2016, Xi'an municipal government agreed to divide 12 administrative villages and 4 communities in Jingwei Street into Jijia street.
As of June 2020, Jingwei street has jurisdiction over 11 villages, including 5 communities and 6 administrative villages. The people's government is stationed in mijiaya village.
