Kouquan Township
Kouquan Township, the name of Township, is under the jurisdiction of Yungang District, Datong City, Shanxi Province. It is an economic Township combining industry and agriculture with coal industry as the main industry. It is an early developed area in Datong. It won the title of the first batch of well-off Township in Shanxi Province in 1990. In 2008, Kouquan township was the third batch of experimental towns in Datong City to study and practice the scientific outlook on development.
On July 24, 2019, Kouquan township was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

Kouquan township is located at the foot of Qifeng mountain and the Bank of Kouquan river. It is about 20 kilometers away from the urban area in the East, adjacent to Huairen County of Shuozhou City in the south, yaerya Township in the West and Gaoshan town in the north. In 2002, the township was merged. The former xiwanzhuang Township and Zhaojia village were merged into Kouquan township. Now the township covers an area of 213 square kilometers, with 35 administrative villages under its jurisdiction and the township government in Kouquan. Natural conditions
The topography of the township is complex and diverse, with high terrain in the northwest and low terrain in the southeast. The northwest is mountainous and loess hilly land, and the southeast is Pingchuan District. Kouquan River and Ganhe river run through the township from west to East. Within the jurisdiction of convenient transportation, the railway has North Tongpu, Kouquan line, Han Yang railway. There are many highways in the territory, such as Dayun highway, ring expressway, Yaxi highway, coal transportation special line, Quanyu Road, quanmao Road, Tali Road, quanluo Road, etc. In 1993, all villages in the township were basically connected with oil roads (highways). In particular, from 2001 to 2008, the township has invested 46.8 million yuan in the construction of 118 new rural roads, main streets and roadways, with a total length of 78 km. Historically, the traditional agriculture in the area was mainly grain planting, with a relatively single industrial structure.
