Bingzhongluo, formerly known as "jiachangpu bucket" (Tibetan), means Nujiang xiaokangpu. It is said that the luopuhua temple in Bingzhong is under the jurisdiction of Kangpu Lama Temple in Weixi County. Kangpu's Tibetan name is "Changpu", so Bingzhong Luohe has the saying of Nujiang Xiaokang temple.
Bingzhongluo used to be a place where Nu people lived. Since the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, Tibetan Buddhism was brought into Bingzhongluo by Tibetan Lama dugongji and took root, Tibetans have migrated from Tibet, Deqin, Zhongdian and other places and become the main residents here.
Bingzhongluo was originally named "Bizhong", which means "Tibetan village" in Tibetan, and the local Nu people called it "mabaiklau". After the Lisu people migrated from the Lancang River Basin and the lower reaches of the Nujiang River to settle here, they added the sound of "Luo" to the original "Bizhong", which means "Qing" or "place", so they changed from "Bizhong" to "bijiluo".
In 1933, Gongshan was called Dala township.
In 1939, it was called Qiwen township.
In 1950, it was called a district of Gongshan County.
In 1969, Bingzhongluo commune was established.
In 1984, the district was changed.
In 1988, it was changed to Bingzhongluo township.
