Gula township is located in the east of Funing County, Yunnan Province. It borders Panshui township of Baise City, kuiwu township of Jingxi City, Dingye township of Napo County in the southeast, Guichao Township and zhesang Township in the northwest. It is the junction of four counties (cities) and six townships in two provinces (autonomous regions). Puting River, an important river in Funing County, runs through the township from west to east of Yunnan Province.
