Bozhu town

Bozhu town is located in the west of Wenshan City, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, 45 kilometers away from the seat of the municipal government. In May 2006, with the approval of the province, prefecture and city, the old Huilong town and lesichong Township were merged to form Bozhu town. It has jurisdiction over Xinhuilong, laohuilong, baizuge, paiyizhai, mushichong, Luoshuidong, lesichong, qilugu, Laowuji, wusechong, hen Chong, Niuke, 12 villagers' committees, 94 natural villages and 137 villagers' groups. It has a total area of 295.64 square kilometers and a population of 31580 (2017).

Historical evolution

In 1939, it set up laohuilong Township, and in 1959, it established laohuilong commune and lesichong commune. In 1984, it was changed into Huilong district and lesichong district; in 1988, it was changed into Huilong Township and lesichong township. In 1997, laohuilong Township covers an area of 136.1 square kilometers with a population of 18000, and has jurisdiction over six administrative villages, namely laohuilong, Xinhuilong, baizuige, Luoshuidong, baiyizhai and mushichong; lesichong Township covers an area of 256 square kilometers with a population of 19000, and has jurisdiction over six administrative villages, including lesichong, Niuke, hen Chong, qilugu and Laowuji. In May 2006, lesichong Township and laohuilong town were abolished and Bozhu town was established. The town government was stationed in the former laohuilong town government, with an area of 263.07 square kilometers and a population of 30109 people. It has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, 105 natural villages and 137 villager groups. In 2017, it has a total area of 295.64 square kilometers and a population of 31580.

Bozhu town is a town in Wenshan County, Yunnan Province. It is located in the west of Wenshan County, 45 km away from the seat of the county government. The road to the county is asphalt road, with convenient transportation, 42 km away from Wenshan County. It is adjacent to Matang town in the East, BAXIN Township, Xiaojie town and Heping Township in Pingbian County in the south, Laozhai Township in Mengzi County in the west, and Dehou town in the north. The whole town covers an area of 394603.27 mu. There are seven ethnic groups, including Han, Zhuang, Miao, Yi, Dai and Mongolia.
