Historical evolution

Yuguopu Township Office was established in 1945, and Yuguopu people's village government was established in the early days of the people's Republic of China. In October 1950, Yuguopu district was established, and Yuguopu district was under the jurisdiction of the second district. In May 1957, the Ba District was withdrawn from the district and merged with the township, forming Yuguopu township. In March 1958, Jijie and Yuguopu were assigned to Gejiu.
