Maojie town

Maojie town is located in the southwest of Wuding County, in the upstream of mengguo River, the largest tributary of Jinsha River in Wuding County, 29 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Shishan town of our county in the East, Zhongcun township of Lufeng County in the south, Yangjie town of Yuanmou County in the west, Gaoqiao Town and Bailu Township in the north. The largest span from east to west is 36.8 km, and the longest vertical and horizontal line from north to south is 40.1 km. It covers an area of 447 square kilometers, with the highest altitude of 2783 meters (Songlao mountain of madichong village committee) and the lowest altitude of 1980 meters (puzhelong village committee).

In 2008, Maojie town governed 15 villagers' committees and 159 villagers' groups in Maojie, Baizi, cangfang, Tanglang, baiyun'an, Yongquan, Damaidi, LONGQINGGUAN, yangcaoping, Qipai, Dachang, maidichong, wuzhadian, Banshan and Sanjia villages.

Population and nationality

In 2008, the total population of the town was 26046, 60 less than that of the previous year, a decrease of 2.3 ‰. Among them, there are 25449 agricultural population, accounting for 97.7% of the total population; 597 non-agricultural population, accounting for 2.3% of the total population. The birth rate is 8.8 ‰, the death rate is 6 ‰, and the natural growth rate is 2.9 ‰. There are eight ethnic groups in the town, including Han, Yi, Miao, Hui, Susu, Dai, Hani and Lahu. Among the total population, there are 16904 ethnic minorities, accounting for 64.9% of the total population.

In 2008, the actual cultivated land area was 29287 mu, including 13634 mu of paddy field, 15653 mu of dry land, and 1.15 mu of cultivated land per capita. The annual total sown area was 10850 mu, an increase of 188 Mu over the previous year. The area of economic crops is 42004 mu. The total industrial and agricultural output value of the town (estimated) is 176.49 million yuan, an increase of 12.3 million yuan over the previous year, an increase of 7%, including 85.8 million yuan of industrial output value (current price), 2.3 million yuan of taxes paid, and 3.311 million yuan of fiscal revenue, an increase of 49.8% over the previous year's 2.209 million yuan. From January to December, 26.29 million yuan was invested in rural collective fixed assets, accounting for 106% of the tasks assigned by the county. Among them, 8.34 million yuan was invested in the construction of private houses and the purchase of productive fixed assets in rural areas, and 1.8 million yuan was invested in the construction of primary and secondary school buildings. In the whole year, 26.29 million yuan of new fixed assets were added, and the completed housing area was 18096 square meters.
