human geography
Xiaojie
Xiaojie market has been formed more than 100 years ago. It is used to catching up with rats and horses. During the period of the Republic of China, the street was less than two feet wide and less than 100 meters long, which was a "small street" worthy of the name. There are houses on both sides of the street. At first, the street is covered with mud. Every rainy day, the street becomes a piece of mud, which is hard for people to get down. During the period of the Republic of China, the township government office mobilized the masses to donate work and materials to pave stone streets. There is a yamen at the end of the street and a "Oracle altar" on the street, in which there are statues of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and land gods. There is a beautiful "gate gate" at the street entrance, which is shaped like two small towers, built of brick and stone, and later destroyed in the 1950s. Although Xiaojie street is small, there are many people in it. People from teahouses, Yongbao, Yuncheng, Maolan, Weishan, Nanjian, Xiangyun and other places have come here to rush to the streets. Each street has eight or nine hundred people, making the narrow streets very tight. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were firewood markets, livestock markets, Hongtang markets, department stores, food stalls, large livestock markets and so on. Cloth, department stores, tobacco and wine, sugar tea, vegetables, melons and fruits were all over the streets. After 1952, the whole people's and collective service industries such as bank service group, pilot supply and marketing cooperatives, postal agency, credit cooperatives and so on were successively established on the street, which gradually restored the vitality of the street. After 1957, the roads from Aihua to Xiaojie, Xiaojie to teahouse, Yongbao and so on were successively built, which brought prosperity to Xiaojie. Nowadays, there are more than 100 meat shops, soup pots, oil noodles, rice noodles, haircuts, shoes mending, electrical appliances mending and small department stores on the street. There are about 200 to 300 kinds of goods. There are about 300 to 400 pigs and 60 to 100 large livestock on the street. The total value of the goods on the market is about 400000 yuan. The market is prosperous and crowded, and a new atmosphere of prosperity is emerging.
The tomb of the martyrs
Also known as laogaobei, it is located about 500 meters northwest of Wanyou street. It was built by Pan Xu and others under the pressure of Xu zhaogen, the leader of the grain collection team. Since Xiaojie Township opened Wanyou tea garden in 1987, tea has been planted around the martyrs' tombs. The tomb of the martyrs is 5.6 feet high. Its base is 6 feet long and 3.6 feet wide. It is a mixture of earth and stone. It is covered with granite square columns and engraved with the following inscription: "Tomb of the martyrs of Gao Zhiguo, 120th regiment, 14th army, 2nd field 4th corps, Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province, which was founded on February 4, 1951.". The local people named the tomb of the martyr "Laogao stele" to show their respect and deep nostalgia for the martyr.
Big cage tree in Sanchahe
There is a Burmese tree in houyakou, Sanhe Village, with a root girth of 14.3 meters, a diameter of 4.4 meters, and a canopy area of 552.25 square meters. This tree is two saplings that Ruan and ma er's (Sanhe people) drove mules and horses to AVA mountain more than 100 years ago and easily brought back. In order to show their friendship, they planted two saplings together. Now it has deep roots and luxuriant leaves. This tree leaves only one leaf every year (East, South, West, this side), and the tree rings once every four years. Therefore, the tree is evergreen all the year round. in the early 1950s, the whole tree had fallen leaves twice. There is a legend that the local people who do not leave leaves have fewer disasters and fewer difficulties, and that they are clean and safe. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the forest near the tree was deep, and jackals and poisonous snakes often appeared. There was a hole in the root of the tree. Some people had seen a big snake come in and out, and later people were afraid that the snake would come out and hurt people and animals, so they used a mill to press it at the hole. In order to prevent snakes from harming human beings and animals, the villagers beside the trees would make a sacrifice at the root of the big tree on the eighth day of February every year (no sacrifice after liberation) and call the big snake "cage" and the tree "cage tree".
