History of construction

In July 1956, xiong'erzhai township was established in xiong'erzhai area.

In September 1958, xiong'erzhai township was transformed into a commune and merged into Dahuashan people's commune.

In June 1961, xiong'erzhai people's commune was established.

Sanyang ancient volcano

Sanyang ancient volcano is located in the south of Huayu village, xiong'erzhai Township, with a total area of more than 10 square kilometers. It is one of the oldest volcanoes in Beijing and even in China, and is unique in Beijing.

The volcanic remains are the remains of many volcanoes left by the eruption of Sanyang ancient volcano 1.5 billion years ago. They are rich in types and well preserved. Affected by the volcanic eruption, the crust has changed. Many large and small rifts, big valleys and narrow valleys have been formed in Sanyang ancient volcano area, showing the landscape of many strange mountains, rocks and cliffs. Due to the effect of pozzolanic fertilizer, the soil of Sanyang ancient volcano is fertile, and the vegetation coverage rate is more than 90%, and the forest coverage rate is more than 60%.

Laoquan Mountain Park

Laoquan mountain wild park is located in laoquankou village, xiong'erzhai township. The total area of the park is about 1000 mu, and the forest vegetation coverage is more than 90%. It is characterized by protecting and improving the original ecological natural landscape and mountain vegetation, focusing on the concept of low-carbon environmental protection and ecological leisure. There are six core scenic spots in the park, including qingtianmen, laoquanchi, Xieyuan, fushouling, folk art carving garden, baihuagou, and eight auxiliary scenic spots, including Caiye Valley, cliff view, picking Valley, music square, old folk houses, old Beijing folk garden, wedding photography base, and wedding ceremony and custom base for intangible cultural heritage protection.

Four Tower Scenic Spot

Located in the north of xiong'erzhai Township, Sizuolou scenic spot is named after four Ming Dynasty enemy towers on the top of the mountain. The mountainous area has sparse vegetation and serious soil erosion, which is a debris flow prone area. There are small tungsten mines in the North foothills, and pears and red fruits are produced in the nearby mountains. The four towers are also the highest peak of Pinggu (1063 meters).

The four towers scenic spot has steep mountains, protruding above the surrounding peaks, and there are many cliffs in the mountains. It is a fault block mountain formed since Yanshanian. The scenic area covers an area of 800 hectares, 245 hectares for tourism development and about 70 hectares for central forest area. It is a municipal nature reserve. The forest coverage rate is 95%, and the soil is mainly brown soil.
