Linziwo and Qingshuigou of pingchangzi village committee have high-quality granite resources with a reserve of about 400000 cubic meters.
Historical evolution
Wadu township is named after Wadu, the residence of the township government, 38 kilometers away from the urban area. Wadu because of low-lying terrain, East Lancang River, old, is Baoshan to Yongping County must pass. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, a ferry was set up here, which was named "Wadu", and later evolved into Wadu. Dongli in Ming Dynasty and sanpuhuotou in Baoshan County in Qing Dynasty. After that, Wadu district was established in 1984, including Yakou, Anhe, Langba, Sanping, tuguan, Huangtian, Wadu, pingchangzi and Daping. In 1988, the district was withdrawn to build a township, with jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages including Yakou, Anhe, Langba, Sanping, pinglinzi, tuguan, Huangtian, Wadu, pingchangzi and Daping until 2000. In 2000, there were 109 natural villages, 164 agricultural cooperatives, 5537 households and 23319 people in total. There are 103 Miao, Bai, Yi, Lisu, Achang and Manchu people, accounting for 4.4 ‰ of the total population of the region. The descendants of Pu Manchu live in yumuqing natural village in Daping administrative village. as of 2017, the resident population was 24397.

1、 Walnut
Wadu walnuts are big, thin skinned, rich in meat, fresh and crisp. They are well-known in Baoshan. Their products are exported to other places, and they are a good gift for guests every Mid Autumn Festival. Wadu township has a long history of walnut cultivation. The oldest bubble walnut in Wadu township has been planted for more than 300 years, and the largest single plant covers an area of 0.8 mu. From 2006 to 2007, 2390 mu of walnuts were newly planted in our Township, with a total area of 56605 mu, 2.3 mu per capita and 10.3 mu per household. The output of walnut was 450000 kg, an increase of 60000 kg or 15.38% over 390000 kg of the previous year, and the output value was 12.45 million yuan, an increase of 3.55 million yuan or 28.51% over 8.9 million yuan of the previous year.
2、 Sericulture:
There are 4264.85 mu of mulberry garden in the township. In 2007, a total of 2917.75 silkworms were raised, with an output value of 1.81 million yuan, an increase of 840000 yuan or 86.59% over 2006.

The Dadi village group in Wadu Langba village lives in a Miao community of 14 households and 66 people.
