Therefore, it is the site of Sanpo County in Yuan Dynasty, which is called Nalong City, so it is called Xianjie. In 1276, a county was set up in the 13th year of the Yuan Dynasty. Due to the confluence of three rivers in the East, it is called Sanpo County, belonging to Kunyang Prefecture. In 1725, Sanpo county was renamed Yunlong Town, belonging to Anning Prefecture. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the first Li. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it belonged to the fourth district. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed Xianjie Township, belonging to the third district (Longquan District). In October 1956, it belonged to Xianjie district. Mingyihe village was originally located in mingyihe township. Because of the image of a phoenix in the village, people named it "Mingyi". In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Sanpo County; in the Qing Dynasty, it returned to Anning Prefecture, called Liujia; in the Republic of China, it was called Zhenquan town; after liberation, it was called mingyihe Township, belonging to the third district.
In September 1950, Longquan was the third district, with jurisdiction over seven townships: Xianjie, zideng, Xiyuan, Machang, Ermu, mingyihe and Shizhuang. In December 1951, the three districts governed 10 townships, namely Xianjie, Baideng, Xiyuan, Machang, Ermu, mingyihe, Shizhuang, Datun, Tongxian and Liyi. In October 1956, it was changed into a county street, with jurisdiction over five townships, namely Datun, Xianjie, Baideng, Liyi and mingyihe. In October 1958, the red flag commune was established, with six administrative areas: Shizhuang, mingyihe, Liyi, Shijiang, Xianjie and Baideng. In March 1959, Hongqi commune still had jurisdiction over six administrative areas: Shizhuang, mingyihe, Xianjie, Liyi, Shijiang and Baideng. In 1961, it was divided into Xianjie commune and mingyihe commune.
By the end of 1962, Xianjie commune had jurisdiction over Xianjie, Shijiang and Liyi brigades; mingyihe commune had jurisdiction over mingyihe, Shizhuang, Ermu and Diandong brigades; Machang and Baideng brigades belonged to Erhong commune. In May 1964, Xianjie commune had four brigades and 32 production brigades, namely Xianjie, Liyi, Baideng and Shijiang; mingyihe commune had six brigades and 32 production brigades, namely mingyihe, Shizhuang, Machang, Diandong, Ermu and shuangcun. In 1984, the commune was changed into a district. The county block has jurisdiction over four townships, namely Xianjie, Baideng, Liyi and Shijiang; mingyihe district has jurisdiction over six townships, namely mingyihe, Machang, Shizhuang, shuangcun, Diandong and Ermu.
In February 1988, the district was withdrawn and changed into township. Xianjie township has four offices, 25 village committees and 27 natural villages, including Xianjie, Shijiang, Yanta and xiayuanliang; mingyihe township has six offices, 22 village committees and 35 natural villages, including mingyihe, Ermu, Diandong, shuangcun, Wangjiazhuang and Shizhuang. In 1996, Xianjie Township covers an area of 159 square kilometers with a population of 13000, and has jurisdiction over Xianjie, Shijiang, Yanta and xiayuanliang; mingyihe Township covers an area of 107 square kilometers with a population of 12000, and has jurisdiction over mingyihe, Ermu, Diandong, Wangjiazhuang, shuangcun and Shizhuang.
In 2003, Xianjie Township covers an area of 159 square kilometers and has a population of 14656, including 11682 agricultural population and 2974 non-agricultural population. It has four village committees, 28 natural villages and 28 villager groups in Yuanliang, Xianjie, Yanta and Shijiang. Mingyihe Township covers an area of 107 square kilometers and has a population of 13300, including 12796 agricultural population and 982 ethnic minorities. It has six village committees and 45 villager groups . In 2006, mingyihe Township and Xianjie Township were abolished and Xianjie town was established. It covers an area of 266 square kilometers and has a population of 28300. It governs 10 administrative villages, including Xianjie, xiayuanliang, Yanta, Shijiang, WuYiHe, Diandong, Ermu, Wangjiazhuang, Shizhuang and shuangcun. The town government is stationed in Xianjie.
In April 2011, Xianjie town was abolished and Xianjie street was established. It has 10 administrative villages and Xianjie communities, including Yuanliang, Xianjie, Yanta, Shijiang, Ermu, Wangjiazhuang, Shizhuang, shuangcun, mingyihe and Diandong.
