Zhangbu town is under the jurisdiction of Pingtang county. Zhangbu town is located in the northwest of Pingtang County, bordering Shilong township of Duyun City in the East, Yazhou town of the county in the south, ningwang township of Huishui County in the west, and Tiechang township of Guiding County across the river in the north, with a total area of 218 square kilometers. The town governs 6 administrative villages, 103 villager groups, 145 natural villages, 3350 households and 15336 people. At the end of 2013, the per capita net income was 5404.25 yuan.

The existing cultivated land area is 11048 mu, including 5974 mu of farmland and 5074 mu of soil. There are Buyi, Han, Miao and other nationalities living in the town, of which the Buyi population accounts for 76.8% of the total population, which is a typical Buyi town. Buyi language, clothing, housing, living habits and folk customs are well preserved, and ethnic customs are very strong.

In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

Historical evolution

Zhangbu town was officially built in October 2012. In January 2014, the administrative divisions were merged, and Kala village of Yazhou town was formally merged into Zhangbu town.
