Xiangdong town is under the jurisdiction of Congjiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is located in the northwest of Congjiang County, about 110 kilometers away from the county. It is the transit place of Xiamen Chengdu Expressway and Guiyang Guangzhou express railway. It borders on Guzhou, Chejiang and Zaima in Rongjiang County, koujiang, Shuangjiang and Jiuchao in Liping County, Guping, Xiajiang and Tingdong in Liping County. It is the "Golden Triangle" at the junction of Li, Cong and Rong counties. The famous jiudongkuantang, pingzhoukuantang, is the center of the southern Dong Jiudong area.

A total of 42 natural villages, 90 villager groups, 4330 households, 19070 people, including 18755 agricultural population, 11075 labor force, living in Han, Dong, Miao and other ethnic groups, ethnic minorities accounted for 98% of the total population.. Among them, the agricultural population is 18755, accounting for 98.34% of the total population; the total labor force is 11075, including 2400 illiterate and semi illiterate, 5540 primary school educated, 2695 junior high school educated, 580 senior high school educated, including 1139 surplus labor force, 1260 exported labor force, and 2058 migrant workers throughout the year. The gross national product of the whole year was 98.87 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2060 yuan.

Agricultural economy: the annual grain output is more than 9000 tons, and the rice fish output is about 450 tons, which is known as the "land of fish and rice" in Congjiang. Courtyard economy: there are more than 12000 cattle, 8500 pigs and 30000 chickens, ducks and geese in the township, providing sufficient supply for Xiangdong farmers' market.

There are 23 drum towers represented by zengchong Drum Tower (built in 1672, i.e. Kangxi 11), and 24 Fengyu bridges represented by Jingou flower bridge (built in 1777). There are also the mysterious and sinister longwangtan waterfall, the intact original ecology of tuomiao mountain, the ancient tombs and wells reflecting the changes of the times, the songs, dances, operas and traditional festivals showing the cultural and historical origins of the Dong nationality, and so on, which are the last pure land of pure Dong culture.
