Taipan Township
Taipan Township, an ethnic township with Miao as the main resident population, is administratively subordinate to Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. It is located in the west of Taijiang County, bordering Taigong town in the southeast, Geyi Township in the north, paiyang Township in the South and Kaili City in the west, with an average altitude of 700 meters. The terrain is characterized by high mountains and small impact dams. There are 320 National Highway and Zhentai tourist highway passing through the territory, the traffic is very convenient. The area of cultivated land is 8582.4 mu (including 6598.7 mu of farmland and 1983.7 mu of soil). There are 4398 hectares of developable non cultivated land, 5267 hectares of forest land, and the forest coverage rate is more than 54%. Since 1998, the construction of high-quality fruit base with Jinqiu pear as the leader has reached 492 mu, and in 2003, 394.7 mu of grass and livestock have been planted.

Taipan, as an administrative Township, has 15 administrative villages, including Jibao village, Mianhua village, nanwa village, Nanzhuang Village, Dazhai village, Pingshui village, kongzhai village, Dejuan village, guizhai village, Nanyao village, 45 natural villages and 77 villager groups, with a total population of 3153 households and 15120 people, including 14748 agricultural population, 372 non-agricultural population and 7415 labor force.

economic development
The gross national product of the township was 29.79 million yuan (including 25.76 million yuan of agricultural output value and 6.42 million yuan of township enterprise output value), the financial revenue was 422700 yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 1412 yuan, the total grain output was 4402 tons (including 401 tons of summer grain and 4001 tons of autumn grain), and the per capita grain intake of farmers was 293 kg.
