Wuyang town
Wuyang town is located in the northeast of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is surrounded by mountains in the middle and upper reaches of Wuyang river. Wuyang river passes through the city from west to East. It is called "Fucheng" on the north bank and "Weicheng" on the south bank. It is 151 kilometers away from Kaili, where the state capital is located. It is the seat of the people's Government of Zhenyuan County, Guizhou Province.
Historical evolution
Wuyang town is a cultural ancient city with a long history, which used to be the political, economic and cultural center of Southeast Guizhou. As early as the 12th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1275), the Department of recruiting envoys in yanbianxidong, Zhenyuan was set up here. In 1283, it was changed into the general office of the army and the people, and the office was built to govern the Central River. In 1371, Zhenyuan government was set up. In 1498, Zhenyuan County was established. In 1551, the city of Fu was built. In July 1956, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture was established here. After the state capital moved to Kaili in 1958, it has always been the seat of Zhenyuan County.

The two interfaces of the newly built Kaili Yuping expressway are only about 40 km away from Wuyang town.

The main river in Wuyang town is Wuyang River, which flows directly into Dongting Lake and into the Yangtze River. Wuyang River cascade hydropower station is rich in water resources.
