Wuxi town

Wuxi Town, belonging to Dangtu County, Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, is located on the North Bank of Shuiyang River in the southeast corner of DAGONGWEI, 31.2 km away from the county seat. The town covers an area of 47 square kilometers, with 21000 mu of arable land and 15000 mu of Goutang, with a population of 24532 (in 2017). It has jurisdiction over 7 villages, 1 neighborhood committee and 125 natural villages.

On September 24, 2019, Wuxi town (crab seedling) was selected into the list of the ninth batch of national "one village, one product" demonstration villages and towns.

Historical evolution

Wuxi town is one of the eight ancient towns in Dangtu County. In 1865, the Qing government set up Lika here to levy export taxes on rice, wheat, beans and fish. Wuxi was established in 1673. In the early days of liberation, Wuxi town was a part of Baocheng Township and fushe township. After the establishment of the people's commune in 1958, it was the Yongbao, Yixin, Nanguang and Wuxi brigade of Houzi commune (dagongyu commune). Wuxi commune was set up when the scale of the commune was adjusted in 1961, the township government was set up in 1983, and the town people's government was set up in 1984.

Wuxi town is located in the confluence area of rivers and lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is a plain polder area with relatively flat terrain. It is named for its vast lakes and prosperous fishery. It has a mild climate, abundant rainfall and fertile soil. With the continuous development of crab seedling cultivation industry, the crab seedling cultivation base of the town has reached more than 8000 mu, with an annual output of more than 100 million crab seedlings, which is known as "the first crab seedling town in China". The industrial economy is advancing by leaps and bounds, and the output value, profits and taxes, and scale of enterprises are increasing year by year.

The instrument manufacturing industry is the traditional advantage industry of Wuxi town. The former instrument factory of Dangtu County was once rated as a star enterprise in Anhui Province, and has cultivated a large number of technical, supply and marketing and management talents.

After the reform of the enterprise, many employees went out to work. Inspired by the project of "bringing the Phoenix back to the nest", some of the best of them sprouted the desire to start a business, and returned to their hometown to start a hard business. As of June 2009, there are 42 garment enterprises in Wuxi Town, accounting for 51.2% of the total number of industrial enterprises in the town, and 4199 employees, accounting for 87.8% of the total number of enterprise employees in the town. Garment processing has become the pillar industry of the town.

In 2016, the fiscal revenue of Wuxi town was 85 million yuan, an increase of 10%. The total industrial output value was 1.35 billion yuan, of which the total output value of scale industries was 1.201 billion yuan, an increase of 17.5%. The output value of Zhanxin reached 249 million yuan, an increase of 38.7%. Fixed assets investment was 908 million yuan, with a cumulative increase of 9%, of which 496 million yuan was industrial fixed investment. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 20100 yuan, an increase of 9%.

In 2017, Wuxi town completed an industrial output value of 1.348 billion yuan, an increase of 12.3%; fixed asset investment of 943 million yuan, an increase of 15.1%; and fiscal revenue of 96.34 million yuan, an increase of 13.8%. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 22100 yuan, an increase of 9.9%.

Characteristic industry

DAGONGWEI in Wuxi Town, jinbaowei in Xuancheng City and chengjianwei in Wuhu City are important grain distribution and transfer centers and aquatic products production bases. Rich in rice, cotton, oil and other agricultural and sideline products and fish, shrimp, turtle, crab, pearl and other aquatic products.

Wuxi small grinding sesame oil is made from white, big and bilateral sesame seeds produced in the East Lake of Wuxi. It is refined by picking up impurities, washing with clean water, drying in the sun, frying in the fire, and manual regrinding. It is the best seasoning because it can add fragrance to the oil. The cold dishes are especially fragrant. They are the best in the oil family, so they are known as "a drop of fragrance" in the local area.

Wuxi town is located at the junction of two provinces and four counties, with danggao bridge in the East and Shuiyangjiang River in the south. Weiwu Road, Wuhuang road and other provincial and county roads run through, water, electricity, gas and other facilities are perfect, the sewage treatment station processes 500 tons per day, and the agricultural products market is fully functional. The industrial park has begun to take shape. There are nearly ten enterprises in the park, mainly in the first-class industries such as instruments and clothing.
