scenic spot
Beipanjiang Grand Canyon
Beipanjiang gorge is located in karst area. It is more than 90 thousand kilometers long in Liangdu. There are many peaks on both sides of the gorge. The deepest part is more than 700 meters. Sometimes wide valleys alternate, sometimes cliffs block out the sun, very beautiful. The trees embrace stones, the vines entangle the trees, and the exotic flowers and plants are interspersed among them. The black leaf monkey, macaque, mandarin duck and wild duck play in the water, full of vitality and aura. According to legend, 1 million years ago, it was a huge underground cave with various stalactites, stalagmites and stone buds, and the Yinhe River passed through it. Later, due to the violent movement of the earth's crust, the underground caves collapsed, forming the Grand Canyon. The river water flowing from here originates from Panxian county and finally flows into the Pearl River. To the south of this river is Nanpanjiang River, which is why it is called "Beipanjiang Grand Canyon".
Beipanjiang Bridge
Several bridges on the Beipan River represent different centuries. The Tiesuo bridge was built in the 18th century, the reinforced concrete Bangui highway bridge was built in the 20th century, and this modern cable-stayed viaduct is the product of the 21st century.
The high-grade highway from Guanling County to Xingren city crosses the Beipanjiang River and becomes a new traffic artery connecting the two sides in the 21st century. It is beyond the reach of the ancient post road in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Yunnan Guizhou highway in the 20th century. The bridge has become the key and throat of the new Yunnan Guizhou passage. This section of Beipanjiang gorge is particularly steep, especially turbulent, with a valley depth of more than 1 km, which is daunting. To cross such a valley, we can imagine the magnificence of this bridge. It is 388 meters long and 486 meters high from the water surface, ranking first in China and second in Asia.
Because of the sparsely populated, the original ecological environment of this section of Canyon across the bridge is well preserved. The gorge is full of green water, abundant grass and lush trees, wild boars, monkeys and egrets. It is full of karst wonders and scenes depicted in Tang and Song poems. Today, in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, we can no longer hear "the sound of the apes on both sides of the Strait can't stop crying" or see "the red leaves on the mountains are like rosy clouds". However, we can hear and see them here. A geologist from the Chinese Academy of Sciences said after inspecting the Beipanjiang gorge: "what we lost in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River can be found in the Beipanjiang gorge in Guizhou." A writer once said: "the Beipanjiang Valley can help me find the artistic conception of Tang poetry and Song poetry lost for thousands of years."

On July 29, 2020, Beipanjiang town was named as the National Health township (county) in 2017-2019 cycle by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
