In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Dading Prefecture; in 1992, Yangchang, Fawo and Aoshu were merged into Yangchang Miao and Yi townships. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Miao and Yi people in sheep farm was 34221. As of June 2020, Yangchang Miao Yi township has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Yangchang village.

History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Dading Prefecture.
Before 1941, it belonged to Dafang County.
In the thirtieth year of the Republic of China (1941), when Nayong County was established, it was divided into three counties.
In 1953, it was the township of logging, Dadi and Geluo.
In 1958, it merged with Fawo and became a sheep farm commune.
In July 1984, a minority township was built.
In 1992, Yangchang, Fawo and Aoshu were merged into Yangchang Miao and Yi townships.
