Xinhua Miao Yi Manchu Township is located in the central and southern part of Jinsha County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. It is adjacent to Chengguan town in the East, Chongxin town in Qianxi County and Anluo Miao Yi Manchu Township in the south, Buyi township of Datian Yi Miao Nationality in the West and Pingba town in the North, with an administrative area of 93.6 square kilometers.

In 1949, it belonged to Liutang township; in 1992, Xinhua, Longfeng, Bijia and Shuitou townships in Anluo district were built into Xinhua Miao Yi Manchu Township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Miao and Yi Manchu Township in Xinhua was 22746. As of June 2020, Xinhua Miao Yi Manchu Township has jurisdiction over 4 communities and 6 administrative villages.

In 1949, it belonged to Liutang township.

In 1953, Longfeng Township, Xinhua Township, Shuitou Township and Bijia nationality township were established.

In 1958, Zhiyong commune was established.

The highest point is at maganpo, Longjing Village, with an altitude of 1741.4 meters; the highest point is under Tianxing bridge, Tianqiao village, with an altitude of 980 meters.

The main rivers in Xinhua Miao Yi Manchu Township are underground river, Yanzigou River and toubu river. The underground river originates from the water source dam of Anluo River, with a total length of 4 km; Yanzigou originates from the northeast of huangjiazhai mountain in Longfeng area, flows eastward, and the upstream is called Youjie river. It flows due north through lantianba and songjiazhai, and then flows to the northeast of mafengwanzi, passing huangjiayantou and xiaochanggou. Toubu river originates from the southern foot of Xianrenyan mountain in Xinhua Township, which is called Yuanhe River. It flows to Shuitou Fengyan dam, and then flows into karst cave to become subsurface flow. The drainage area is 60 square kilometers.
