Yongshen Yi and Miao Township, also known as Yongxing Township, is located in the northeast of Qianxi County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, 27 kilometers away from the county, with a total area of 93.14 square kilometers. The terrain in the territory is mountainous, generally high in the southwest and low in the northeast, belonging to subtropical monsoon climate. As of June 2020, there are 2 residential communities and 11 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the Yi and Miao ethnic groups in the countryside, and the Township People's government is located in ciluo community.
It was formerly called "huoshiba" and later renamed "yongxingchang". Because it is easy to catch fire, we use the similar pronunciation "Shen" instead of "Xing", which means that the fire is on the firewood, but it doesn't burn, so it means to avoid fire. In the early Qing Dynasty, kaiyongshenchang was under the jurisdiction of chongshanli, Qianxi Prefecture. In July 1991, Yongshen, Baiyang and Huashi townships were merged into Yongshen Yi and Miao townships. Chiwang Expressway and other highways pass through the territory, including tuomei River and Huadi River, with a length of about 42 km.

History of construction
In the early Qing Dynasty, kaiyongshenchang was located in chongshanli, Qianxi Prefecture.
In 1927, Yongshen, Huashi and Shaba were established.
In 1932, Yongshen township was transformed into a town.
In 1941, Huashi Township and Shaba Township were merged into Houzhen township.
In May 1953, it was divided into four townships: shuitai, Baiyang, Huashi and Shahe.
In May 1956, Sihe township was merged into Huashi township.
In September 1958, the communes were transformed into townships.
In May 1984, the township system was restored, and Baiyang township was changed into Yi and Miao township.
In July 1991, Yongshen, Baiyang and Huashi townships were merged into Yongshen Yi and Miao townships.

By the end of 2011, Yongshen Yi and Miao Township had jurisdiction over huoshiba community, ciluo community, shabahe community, Hanjiadian community, Zhizuo village, Heimo village, Lianhua village, Quanxiang village, Fuxing village, Gangou village, Ganjing village, Dadi village and Xinzhai village, with 118 villager groups.

The river course in the territory is about 42 km long.

The average occurrence of hail disaster is 2.5 years, and the most serious one occurred in 2007, involving 6 villages and covering an area of 22500 mu. In 2011, it suffered the worst drought in a century, lasting from January to July for more than half a year. In summer and autumn, crop yields have been reduced by more than 70%, and ponds and reservoirs have almost dried up. During the winter solstice of 2007 and the winter solstice of 2008, more than 25000 people in more than 6000 households and 95 square thousand years of land were affected by the snow disaster, and 13 villages (communities) were cut off electricity and water successively, causing serious losses to agricultural production.

The origin of place names
