Dashui Yi and Miao Buyi township is located in the east of Dafang County, Northwest Guizhou Province. It is adjacent to Huangni Township in the East, Renhe and Jinpo Township in Qianxi County in the south, Pudi Township in the West and Shachang Township in the north. It is located at the junction of Dafang and Qianxi counties. Datian village, where the township government is located, is 67 km away from the county seat and 170 km away from Guiyang, the provincial capital.
Dashui township is a national place with a long history and culture. In January 1992, the administrative division of the township was formed by the merger of Dashui, Pingzhai and Tianqiao (except Dayan village of Tianqiao township was under the jurisdiction of Huangni Township after the merger).
Name and origin
It was named after a well named "big well" beside the Township People's government.
Evolution of administrative districts
In 1950, it belonged to 13 districts.
In April 1953, part of Dashui village and Fuxin village merged to establish Dashui township.
In September 1958, Dashui commune was established, and in November, management area was changed.
In March 1963, Dashui commune was restored.
In 1984, it was changed into Dashui Yi nationality township.
In December 1991, Liangjing village of Pingzhai Yi and Tianqiao Yi and Miao townships was merged into Buyi township of Dashui Yi and Miao.

The whole township has mild climate, abundant rainfall, long sunshine and rich natural resources, which is suitable for the development of agricultural production. The main food crops are corn, wheat, soybean, potato, etc., and the main economic crops are flue-cured tobacco, pepper, rapeseed, etc. Among them, flue-cured tobacco is the most prominent, which is one of the county's tobacco bases; wild plants include lacquer, Gastrodia elata, Lentinus edodes, gallnut, gentian and other traditional Chinese medicine, especially the lacquer quality is the best choice for the establishment of lacquer base; there are 39000 Mu grassland and forest farms in the township, which provide favorable conditions for the development of animal husbandry, timber forest and economic forest. Underground there are coal, pyrite and other mineral resources under certain historical conditions, mainly distributed in Lushan village, with a total reserve of about 100 million tons. The tributary of the MIDI River in the upper reaches of the Weihe River originates from the township. It integrates mountains, water and waterfalls, forming a unique scenic spot of the MIDI river. At the junction of the southwest and Jinpo, there is about 20 square kilometers of Rhododendron natural protection forest, integrating flowers and caves, which is an important part of the hundred mile Rhododendron. In addition, the Yi, Miao, Buyi, Gelao, man and other ethnic minorities living in Dashui have created splendid cultures and formed their own unique customs, customs and feelings in the long-term historical development.
