The origin of the name
The evolution of the place name of Guowa township is said that Guowa was originally a guo'ao, which belongs to the Yi language and is only like the terrain. If it is Guowa, there is no way to verify it.
According to the reasoning, there are two sources of the name of Guowa: one is because of the trees and the ground, because the ancient ginkgo tree is commonly known as ginkgo, and the white fruit tree is rare and precious, and it symbolizes the ancient civilization. In addition, the terrain of Guowa is like a tile on the back, so each one takes one word to get the name of Guowa.
The second is to take it from its products. Because Baiguoshu is known as a divine tree, people take the word "fruit" from Baiguoshu in order to have a spirit in their heart and never forget it. It is also said that some people made earthen tiles two or three hundred years ago. In ancient times, they took the word "tile" from Baiguoshu and the word "fruit" from Shenshu, and got the name of Guowa. In short, there is no textual research on the historical origin of the place name of Guowa.
