Gangwu town is a town under the jurisdiction of Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province. It is located in the west of Guanling Autonomous County, about 47 kilometers away from the county seat, with a total area of more than 130 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 16054 mu. Gangwu town is known as the "hometown of medicinal materials". The subtropical monsoon humid climate provides favorable climatic conditions for the growth of Chinese herbal medicine. Gangwu town has a rapid economic and social development. In 2007, the per capita net income of farmers was 1915 yuan, and the investment in fixed assets was more than 30 million yuan.

Gangwu town is located in the southwest of Guizhou Province, which is a typical mountainous agricultural county. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The suitable tea planting area is 1200-1800 meters above sea level. Black cattle
Gangwu yellow cattle have flat or slightly concave forehead, various horn shapes, including supernumerary, lateral and anteroposterior ones, and generally have short horns. The acromion of bull is obvious, and the acromion is about 8-15 cm higher than the dorsal line. The acromion of cow is only 2-3 cm higher than the dorsal line. The vertical skin is longer, extending from the mandible to the anterior chest, with a width of 15 cm. The chest is deep and slightly narrow, and the rump is inclined. The root of the tail is high, the tail is long and thin, and the tail broom crosses the flying joint. The forelimb is straight, the hock of the hind limb is more inward, the joint tendons of the limbs are obvious, and the hooves are compact and firm. The breast is small, the nipple is thin and short, the skin is thin and dense, the hair is thin and soft, most of them are yellow, followed by brown and black, and a few of them are spotted. Most of the nose was black, a few flesh color. On the whole, there are two types of body shape: more detailed and more robust.
The body height, body length, chest circumference, tube circumference and body weight of adult bull were 114.0 ± 7.3cm, 124.2 ± 10.2cm, 157.1 ± 12.6cm, 16.4 ± 1.5cm and 284.1kg respectively, and those of adult cow were 108.0 ± 10.7cm, 118.8 ± 15.0cm, 147.9 ± 8.9cm, 15.0 ± 1.5cm and 239.8kg respectively. The results showed that the maximum pull of adult cows and steers were 195 kg and 245 kg, respectively, accounting for 70.6% and 66.8% of their body weight. Gangwu cattle had good pull and endurance, and could be used for both water and drought, especially in steep terraced fields. Gangwu yellow cattle has the body characteristics of mountain cattle and better performance of service and meat, good at climbing mountains and steep slopes, and also has good adaptability to complex climatic conditions; it has a large number and wide flow direction, and has a great influence.
