Baoyuan Township

Baoyuan, formerly known as "a bowl of water", got its name because there is a stone nest under the cliff of a hill at the entrance of xiachangkou, which gushes fresh spring all the year round. In 1935, when the Sichuan Yunnan Guizhou guerrillas of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army passed by, they changed their name to "Baoyuan", which is still in use today.

Baoyuan township is located in the southwest of Chishui City, Guizhou Province, more than 30 kilometers away from the urban area. It borders Gulin County in Sichuan in the south, Xuyong County in Sichuan in the west, Lianghekou town in the East and Datong town in the north. It is separated from the famous "Sidonggou" scenic spot and Shidong scenic spot. There are 5 administrative villages, which are connected with highways.
