Since the implementation of the "August 7" poverty alleviation plan, under the leadership of all previous county Party committees and governments, with the concern and support of the relevant departments at a higher level, and through the hard work of the whole township people, the poverty alleviation has made some achievements. In 2006, the per capita income of the township was 1375 yuan, and the per capita share of grain was 385 kg, respectively lower than the average level of the county. In 1992, HONGSI township was a newly-built Township which was withdrawn from the district and merged with the township. There are many mountains, ravines, traffic congestion, poor information, scattered people's living. In addition, in recent years, the investment in infrastructure construction is seriously insufficient, the industrial structure is very single, the trade is not active, there are few ways for people to generate income, the increase of income is weak, and the poverty is large. At present, the economic and social development of the whole city and county is still extremely backward It's one of the poorest towns in the world. In 2007, all the oil routes from Hongsi to the county were completed. Mayang River National Nature Reserve, mainly for the protection of langur, covers the whole township.

folk culture
Bridal sedan chair
From ancient times to the present, on the day when the girl got married, the man needed a sedan chair to meet her. If the man didn't use the sedan chair, the woman would not marry. There are two main reasons for this: first, the transportation was inconvenient at that time, so it was used as a means of transportation; second, it reflected the man's initiative. It is often mentioned that there was a quarrel between two couples over trifles. The man said how the woman was, but the woman said, "at that time, you carried me in the sedan chair, not me. As a result, the man was speechless.". The reason is that the bridal sedan has been followed up to now. Although the transportation is convenient now, many young people still use sedan chair to get married, which brings endless fun and happiness to the young man.
Offering graves
In October every year, people will offer graves to their relatives who died soon. The purpose is to remember their dead relatives and let them rest in the spring. Generally speaking, offering a grave for three years is divided into big offering and small offering. When the time comes, people will ask the Taoist priest to carry the killed animals to the grave, burn paper money and set off firecrackers. It will take two or three days for such a sacrifice.
