Lamu ajue township is located in the south of Meigu county. It borders Huoluo Township in Zhaojue County in the East, luomoyida Township in the south, Moni Township in the West and Liuhong and Erqi Township across the river in the north.
The meizhuo highway winds along the Liutong River Valley at the north end of the rural area. The township government is located in Wani village, next to meizhuo Road, with an altitude of 1300 meters, 60 kilometers away from the county seat. The township covers an area of 34.67 square kilometers. The south is higher, belonging to the second half mountain area, with an altitude of 2706 meters; the north is lower, belonging to the low mountain valley area, with an altitude of 1202 meters. It has jurisdiction over 8 villages of LADA, Wani, Madu, bonaigu, erbu, Nihe, Seluo and goleamen, with 44 groups, 970 households and 3694 people, including 3679 Yi people and 15 Han people. The population density is 106.55 per square kilometer.
On February 26, 1958, the township was established under the jurisdiction of gulilada District, Wagang county. The township is located in bonaigu village. On March 25 of this year, it was assigned to Jiagu District of Meigu county. In August, Jianxiang people's Committee. In May 1968, the Township Reform Committee was established. On February 16, 1972, it was converted into a commune. In 1980, the commune reform committee moved to LADA village. On July 12, 1981, the commune reform committee was changed into the management committee. In July 1984, the commune government was abolished. In 1989, the township government moved to Wani village.
On January 12, 2021, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Lamu ajue Township and establish Lama town. The original administrative area of Lamu ajue township is the administrative area of Lama town. The people's Government of Lama town is located at No. 1, luobucaiga street, luobucaiga village.
In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 1.7713 million yuan (835200 yuan for agriculture, 64500 yuan for forestry, 488100 yuan for animal husbandry and 3835000 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of cultivated land was 7234 mu, and the total grain output was 2.209 million kg. The main production of corn, potato, adopted son, walnut, pepper, tung oil. There are 1354 cattle, 250 horses, 2778 pigs, 1602 goats and 2516 sheep. There are 1 commercial purchasing and marketing group and 1 Bank Credit Union in the township, 4 rural primary schools with 111 students, 1 health center and 1 medical staff.
